Stop Hiding from Criticism: A Simple Way to Build Confidence
Stop letting fear hold you back and start embracing growth through feedback
I recently started creating YouTube videos again, but this time with one major change: I’ve turned on the option for people to leave comments.
In the past, I had the comments turned off because I was afraid of what people might say. I worried they’d tell me I was ugly, that I was a terrible speaker, or that my videos were awful.
I feared that if I saw those types of comments, I’d quit before giving myself a real chance.
But then I realized something: I was letting potential trolls hold me back before they even had the chance to say anything. I was stifling my channel’s growth, all because I was afraid of a few negative comments.
In the process, I was also missing out on helpful feedback from people who might actually want to support or encourage me.
It hit me that I was allowing imaginary critics to control part of my life. These people didn’t even exist yet, but I was already giving them power.
